Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be a CEGEP or technical school graduate, with experience in the use of AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD
14 and should have the following skills and personality traits:
Mechanically minded with strong technical skills
Meticulous and attentive to details
Curious and a quick learner
An outgoing personality, with good communication skills
Functionally bilingual, with an excellent command of the English language.
Solid work ethic and a self-starter who can work independently, autonomously and well under pressure.
Conversant in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
Preference towards applicants with experience in the following areas:
During the first 6 to 12 months, some 90% of the workload is devoted to drafting work and learning our business. Afterward,
60% of the workload is devoted to drafting work. The remainder is spent dealing with facility and equipment related issues, such
as research, preparation of requests for quotation for fixed (e.g. shelving, racks, etc.) and mobile (e.g. reach trucks, pallet
jacks, etc.) equipment, analyzing proposals, doing on-site measurements of facilities, calculating building capacities, etc.
The successful candidate has to be creative and will be called upon to do conceptual layouts. When working on conceptual layouts,
the designer may not always receive very precise instructions on what to do but, instead, will have to take basic requirements and
create a design based upon these requirements.
