Project Manager

KOM International is a firm of specialists in logistics studies and the design and implementation of warehousing and distribution systems throughout North and South America, as well as Europe and Asia.

Qualifications

Applying a successful track record in distribution in this senior consulting role, candidates must have at least five years of distribution-related experience in either warehouse operations, consulting or project management, or distribution operations. Ideally holding a degree in industrial engineering or an MBA, ideal candidates should have experience in the design and implementation of distribution center improvements. They must have leadership qualities, motivational skills, written and oral communications skills, tact, maturity, confidence, enthusiasm, positive attitude and the power of persuasion. Fundamentally, the candidates must be "change agents", with the ability to sell their recommendations. Candidates must thrive in a team environment, be able to manage multiple projects and be readily available to travel.

Candidates for the Project Managers position should be knowledgeable and conversant in most of the main areas of KOM's project work, including:

  • Layouts and planning
  • Facility sizing
  • WMS System selection
  • Slotting and numbering
  • Productivity and crewing
  • Operating procedures
  • Transportation
  • Fixed & Mobile Equipment selection
  • Distribution Network Strategies

Position Overview

Reporting to a Project Director or a Managing Partner, a Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a project team, and for ensuring the punctual delivery of high-quality results to the client in an efficient and cost-effective manner. A Project Manager is also involved in proposal development, making sales calls and development of final reports and interim presentations on project status and direction. The most important aspect of the Project Manager's position is to inspire confidence among KOM's clients and satisfy their needs, while exploring new strategies and services intended to benefit KOM's clientele and improve their profitability.
